A little background info...
So this is my first post and I feel I should give you all a little background information on my situation first....
I am a 27 year old male living in the boston area. I have been with my girlfriend now for about 3 years, but unfortunately she moved to Chicago 4 months ago to pursue a law degree. This has left me with mixed emotions. One part of me is sad to see her go, and definately thinks the long-distance thing will work. The other part of me sees this as an opportunity of a lifetime, as I finally have my freedom back!
Some readers may or may not be able to relate to this, but after you are with someone for 3 years the age old question begins to pop in your mind.... Should I marry this girl? I know she is ready and eagerly waiting, but I am just not too sure if she is 'the one', and until I know, I don't want to commit to it.
So.... I am taking the next 2 years and figure out what I want. Maybe I will find someone new, and maybe in the end it will be my current girlfriend who I settle down with, I don't know.
This process started about 4 months ago when she left, and on the advice of my best friend I am letting the world know every aspect of this process. You may like some things, and hate others, but it is who I am :)

wow, well, power to ya, buddy. I, personally, do not hold much faith in long-distance relationships. Especially ones that are for a period as long as 2 yrs like your situation. I did it for 1 year, and I regret all the hard work I put into it. To each his own though. Good luck :) hope it works out for you.
